Hot chocolate can be covered with whipped cream. Hot chocolate made with melted chocolate is also called drinking chocolate, characterized by less sweetness and a thicker consistency.

The first chocolate drink was probably made by the Maya about 2000 years ago and the cocoa drink was an essential part of the Aztec culture around 1400 BC The drink became popular in Europe after it was introduced to the New World from Mexico in the 16th century and has undergone many changes since then. Until the 19th century, chocolate was even used as a medicine to treat conditions such as liver and stomach diseases. For a long time, this was a luxury product that could only be authorized by the wealthy.

In the 2010s, hot chocolate is consumed around the world and comes in several variations, including the spiced chocolate para mesa from Latin America, the very thick cioccolata calda, served in Italy, the chocolate a la Taza, served in Spain and the thinner hot cocoa used in the United States.

keurig hot chocolate

is a beverage brewing system for home and commercial use. It is produced by the American company Neat Dr. Pepperthrough its East Coast headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts. The main Keurig products are K-Cup pods, which serve single-serve coffee containers; other drink pods; and the proprietary machines that brew the drinks into these pods.

Neat beverage varieties include hot and cold coffee, tea, cocoa, dairy drinks, lemonades, cider and fruit drinks. Through its own brands and its partnership licensed brands, Keurig has over 400 different types and over 60 brands of coffee and other beverages. In addition to the K-Cup pods, Vue, K-decanter, and K-mug pods also include.

The original single-serve brewer and coffee pod production company, Keurig, Inc., was founded in Massachusetts in 1992. It launched its first brewers and K-Cup pods in 1998, targeting the office market. As the single-cup brewing system gained popularity, homebrewers were added in 2004. In 2006, the listed Vermont-based specialty-coffee company Green Mountain Coffee Roasters acquired Keurig, sparking rapid growth for both companies. In 2012 Keurig’s main patent on the K-Cup pods expired, leading to new product launches, including brewer models that only accept pods from Keurig brands.

From 2006-2014 Keurig, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. When Green Mountain Coffee Roasters changed its name to Keurig Green Mountain in March 2014, Keurig ceased to be a separate business unit and subsidiary, and instead became Keurig Green Mountain’s main brand. In 2016, Keurig Green Mountain was acquired by a group of investors led by private equity firm JAB Holding Company for nearly $ 14 billion. In July 2018, Keurig Green Mountain merged with Dr. Pepper Snapple Group in a deal worth $ 18.7 billion, creating Keurig Dr. Pepper, a publicly-traded conglomerate that is the third-largest beverage producer in North America.

The House Drinksworks Bar by Keurig was developed by Keurig Dr. Pepper and AB InBev. The machine creates cocktails, beer, and cider through 24 different pods. The device is available in Missouri and is expected to launch to the general public in late 2018.
